Description
This cross, located approximately 20 meters south of the Church of St. Leodegarius, was designed in 1939 by Sir Edwin Lutyens. It is made of Portland stone and features three steps at its base, along with a hollow chamfered plinth. The foot of the cross has four step-backs with shouldered heads. The shaft is tapering and six-sided, topped with a blunt-headed cross that has short arms. This structure is part of the memorial for the second Viscount Wimborne, who died in 1939, and is accompanied by an altar tomb.
