Description
Chase Park Farmhouse is a farmhouse that was formerly a dower house, dating from the mid to late 17th century and altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with limestone dressings and features an interlocking tile roof, along with stone end stacks that have diagonal brick flues. The building is designed in a U-shape and has two storeys plus an attic, with a two-window range.
The central entrance has a four-panel, part-glazed door that is framed by a moulded stone surround and topped with a horizontal oval overlight. The ground and first floors have three-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows with hood moulds, and the ground floor windows also feature relieving arches. There are gabled dormers on the left and right, each with two-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows and hood moulds. Above the door, there is a large sundial with a hood mould.
At the rear left, there is a two-storey-and-attic wing with stone mullion windows, and a full-height gabled stair turret at the centre of the rear. To the rear right, there is a one-storey-and-attic kitchen wing that has ornamental tile ridges. The windows and back door in this section are casement windows with wooden lintels. Inside, the farmhouse features ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams, an open fireplace with an ogee-stop-chamfered bressumer, and a stone fireplace with a four-centred head.
