Description
This is a 17th-century dovecote located approximately 26 meters northwest of the Manor House in Ashby St. Ledgers. It is constructed of coursed ironstone and limestone rubble, with ashlar quoins and a tiled roof. The dovecote features a central doorway that has a blocked opening with a chamfered stone lintel. It has coped gable ends and two louvred timber lanterns. There is an entrance on the left side with a wooden lintel, and above it, there is a 3-light stone-mullioned window. A similar window is located on the right side. Inside, the dovecote has 20th-century roof timbers and stone nesting boxes.
