Description

This is an early 18th-century house, altered in the 19th century. It is constructed of ironstone ashlar with a slate roof and brick end stacks. The house follows a three-unit plan and has a seven-window front. The central entrance features a four-panel door within a moulded stone surround and a keyblock, all protected by a gabled stone porch added in the 19th century. The ground and first floors both have two-light casement windows, each with moulded stone sills, surrounds, and keyblocks. Other features include a wave-moulded plinth, a moulded storey band, moulded stone eaves, chamfered quoins, three segmental-headed roof dormers, stone-coped gables with kneelers. The interior contains boxed spine beams, a fine dog-leg staircase from the ground floor to the attic with fat turned balusters, and a stone-vaulted cellar.
