Description

Cobbler's Cottage is a building dating from the 17th to early 18th century, originally consisting of two cottages that have been combined into one dwelling. The front elevation features a straight joint and quoins marking the division between the two original cottages. The structure is two storeys high, with walls made of coursed stone rubble and a thatched roof. The roof has a central ridge that corresponds to the boundary of the former left-hand cottage.

The front elevation has four window bays, one doorway, and two blocked doorways. Starting from the left, there is a ledged door with a wooden lintel, followed by a first-floor two-light window with small panes and old hinges above a three-light window with small panes set in a pegged frame and a wooden lintel. The fourth bay contains a blocked doorway. The fifth bay, belonging to the former right-hand cottage, has a first-floor sash window that is four panes wide above a two-light casement window with a pegged frame. The sixth bay features a blocked doorway with a wooden lintel and an inserted round window. Finally, the seventh bay has a small two-light casement window above a ground floor two-light window. The interior is reported to retain original features of interest, such as exposed beams.
