Description

The Fir Tree is a public house, later converted into a house, dating from 1725 as indicated by a datestone. It is constructed of squared coursed lias stone and has a thatched roof. The building has a two-unit plan, with two storeys and a cellar. The front elevation has a two-window range, featuring casement windows with glazing bars, each with a wooden lintel. A central flight of steps leads to a 20th-century entrance door, also with a wooden lintel. The building is finished with ashlar gable parapets and brick stacks at each end.
