Description
Pipwell Cottage is a building that consists of two cottages, which have been combined into a single house. It dates from the late 18th century and early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The structure is built of brick and mud, rendered and roughcast, and features a thatched roof. The east side has a brick and rubble plinth, a brick coped gable, and single gable and ridge brick stacks.
The house is two storeys high and has three bays. The front of the building features an off-centre 19th-century six-panel door, with the top two panels being glazed. This door is flanked by two three-light glazing bar casements. To the left of the door is a smaller 20th-century casement, followed by another three-light casement. All of these windows have segmental heads. Above, there are three three-light casements with eyebrow dormers. The rear elevation includes 20th-century windows, with an off-centre 19th-century two-light casement.
