Description
Arthingworth Manor is a mid-18th century manor house that is now a ruin, originally built for the Rokeby family. The structure is made of brick and was originally designed in an E-plan layout, featuring two storeys. The central part of the building has a five-window range of sash windows with glazing bars. The central bay projects forward, creating a porch with a moulded stone doorcase that includes plain pilasters and a pediment above. All the windows are topped with gauged brick arches. The left projecting wing has been demolished, and the section between this wing and the porch is in ruins. The right wing has a canted end, but its roof has been removed, and it now features a 20th-century flat roof. Inside the right wing, there is a staircase with quarter landings and a turned balustrade, although all the floors have been removed. Within the ruins, there are traces of stone walls that likely belong to an earlier house.
