Description

Bosworth House is a house dating to 1790, as indicated by a datestone. It is constructed of brick with a Swithland slate roof. The house follows a two-unit plan and stands three storeys high, with a three-window front. The upper floors feature 19th-century casement windows, while the ground floor has 19th-century sash windows. All windows are topped with gauged brick arches. A 20th-century door is centrally placed, sheltered by a 19th-century canopy. Raised brick string courses run between the floors, and brick stacks are located at the ends of the building. A datestone is set into the right gable. Inside, the entrance hall has a stone-flagged floor and a late 18th-century staircase with winders. There is a tall staircase window with an arched head. A room to the left contains an open fireplace with 19th-century fittings. Moulded cornices are present in the hall and rooms to the left and right. The kitchen, at the rear, features an exposed fireplace beam, which may originate from an earlier house.
