Description
Dial House is a house located on Duddington High Street, built around 1726 for George Wade, with later alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a Collyweston slate roof. Originally designed with a two-unit plan, it stands two storeys high with an attic and has a two-window range, which has been altered to three windows. The windows are leaded casements set under wooden lintels, with the centre window on the first floor being a 20th-century addition with a concrete lintel. The central entrance features a six-panel door also under a wooden lintel. There is an ashlar end stack with a moulded cornice on the left side and a stone stack on the right. An attached single-storey outbuilding on the left has one leaded casement and is now part of the main house. The rear elevation includes a later 18th-century stair turret. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have remains of an open fireplace.
