Description
Farm buildings and an attached dovecote, likely built around 1830 for the Evans family who were formerly of Laxton Hall. The structure is made of squared coursed limestone and features roofs of Collyweston slate and concrete tiles. It has an L-shaped plan with two single-storey ranges. The south range includes three doorways and two casement windows, all under gauged stone heads. Attached to the east end of this range is another section with four openings. The west range, connected at a right angle, has a doorway near the center, a casement window to the right, and a lunette to the left. The dovecote, which links the two ranges, forms a square corner block with a doorway in the corner and a pyramid-shaped roof. Although the interiors were not inspected, they are noted to have some original roof structures. Originally, the ranges served various purposes, including loose boxes, a cowhouse, a fasting pen, and a slaughterhouse, as part of a model farm that also includes Home Farmhouse, a barn, and other farm buildings nearby.
