Description

This is a 17th-century house, later divided into two dwellings, located on the north side of High Street in Cranford St. John. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a steeply-pitched roof covered in fishscale tiles. Gable ends have coping and stone and brick ridge stacks. The front has seven ground-floor and five first-floor windows, all with 2 and 3 lights and small panes, with wooden lintels. The left gable has a board door within a 19th-century timber openwork porch. Above the porch is a 19th-century diamond-shaped ironstone-dressed window. A diamond-shaped window is set into the right gable, above a 2-light stone mullioned window with an ovolo moulding and a casement hood mould. A 2-light casement window with a wooden lintel and a 20th-century porch are located on the ground floor. The interior has not been inspected.
