Description

This is an early 18th-century house located on Station Road, Nassington. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone, which has been painted, and is roofed with thatch. Originally designed as a two-unit dwelling, the house is a single storey with an attic. The front has a two-window arrangement featuring 20th-century PVC casement windows in the original openings, each set beneath a wooden lintel. A 20th-century door is positioned to the far left, also under a wooden lintel. Brick and stone stacks are located at each end of the building. Two eyebrow dormers, each containing casement windows, project from the roof. There is evidence of a blocked door positioned centrally on the facade. The interior retains two open fireplaces with bressumers, and fragments of a central timber-framed partition remain. The house was used as two cottages in the 19th century.
