Description
No. 89 Huntingdon Road is a building that consists of two houses now combined into one. It dates from the 18th and 19th centuries and features a facade made of regularly coursed limestone and brick, topped with a concrete tile roof. The original layout included one- and two-unit plans, and the building stands two storeys high.
The front has a two-window arrangement with irregularly spaced casement windows, and there is one early 19th-century sash window with glazing bars located on the first floor to the left. All windows are set beneath wooden lintels. A fire window is positioned at the far right, and there is a brick and stone chimney stack at the end.
Attached at a right angle to the main front is a one-unit house that has a part brick return wall and a 19th-century sash window. A 20th-century porch connects the two houses. Inside, the building features stop-chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a bressumer. This property is included for its group value.
