Description
This is a house located at 27 Huntingdon Road, dating from the late 17th century and early 18th century, with a remodel in the early 19th century. The building features regular coursed limestone, part close-studded timber framing with herringbone brick infill, and a roof made of pantiles and slate. Originally designed with a two-unit plan, it stands two storeys high and has two bays with a one-window range. The right side has unhorned sash windows with glazing bars, set under wooden lintels. The left bay projects forward as a lean-to with a catslide roof and a timber-framed front wall. There is a central two-storey porch with a lean-to roof and a recessed six-panel door. The house has central flat-topped roof dormers, an ashlar gable parapet on the left, and a brick parapet along the party wall on the right. The ends feature truncated brick and stone stacks. The rear elevation has a one-window range of sash windows similar to those at the front. The gable end facing the road has two 20th-century casements under wooden lintels. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have spine beams.
