Description

A row of four houses, forming a crescent, is located on the west side of Ecton High Street. The building likely dates from the late 17th century and was restored in the mid-20th century. It is constructed of regular coursed lias stone with a plain-tile roof. Originally, the houses probably had two-unit plans, and now comprise an eight-window range with four 3-light and four single-light casement windows, all set within original openings and beneath wooden lintels. C20 doors are also located under wooden lintels, between the window ranges. There are eight 20th-century dormers in the attic space. The building has gable parapets and two stone stacks at the ridge. The interior has been noted to contain ceiling beams, though it has not been inspected. The building is included on the list for its contribution to the group value of the surrounding area.
