Description

The Manor House is a manor house, dated 1631 and 1642. It is constructed of squared, coursed lias and limestone, with parts banded and a concrete tile roof. The main front has two windows and features 2-light stone mullion windows. A 19th-century stone canted bay window is on the ground floor to the left. A gabled wing projects forward to the right, incorporating a 3-light stone mullion window. A 20th-century door is set into the return wall of the cross wing, with a moulded stone surround and a 4-centred head. Ashlar gable parapets are present, along with a brick stack at the ridge. The cross wing, dated 1642, is constructed of banded limestone and lias. The garden front to the left mirrors the main front, with a similar arrangement of 2- and 3-light stone mullion windows and a 19th-century canted stone bay. A gable is on the left and an eaves dormer on the right, with a datestone indicating 1631. Ashlar gable parapets are also present here. The interior was noted to have ceiling beams. An early 20th-century cross wing to the right of the main front was demolished in the mid-20th century.
