Description
Crabtree Lodge is a house built in 1828, constructed from lias ashlar with a slate roof. It features a two-unit plan with a lean-to at the rear and stands two storeys tall with a three-window range. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door with reeded panels, framed by a moulded wood doorcase that includes half round pilasters and a bracketed hood. Above the door is a rectangular fanlight with glazing bars. On either side of the entrance are canted wood bays that contain sash windows with glazing bars set on stone bases. The first-floor sash windows also have glazing bars and are topped with flat stone arches. An ashlar band runs between the floors, and the gable ends have ashlar parapets with brick stacks. A datestone is located in the right gable. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is noted to have panelled window reveals.
