Description
Rowell Charter Inn is a public house and adjoining cottage that have been combined. The building dates from the late 16th century and early 19th century, with a mid-19th century rear wing. It is constructed of ironstone and brick, featuring limestone dressings and Welsh slate roofs. The structure has a plinth and four brick gable stacks, and it is designed in an L-shape with three and two storeys across four bays.
The main south front displays two tripartite 19th-century sash windows, with two 6/6 sash windows above them, and two 3/6 sash windows above that, all featuring flat arches. The former cottage on the right has a round-headed doorway with rusticated quoins and a fanlight, alongside a plain sash window to the left. Above this doorway, there are two 6/6 sash windows, all with flat arches. The three-bay rear wing has a central tripartite sash window on each floor, flanked by single 19th-century glazing bar sashes. The building that was previously adjacent to the left has been demolished.
