Description

The Statue of Aeneas Leaving Troy is a stone statue group dating from the 17th century, located approximately 100 metres southeast of Glendon Hall. The statue depicts Aeneas carrying his father Anchises out of Troy, accompanied by his son Ascanius. It stands on a tall pedestal that features a plinth, cornice, moulded panels, and semi-circular ends decorated with swags. This statue was likely originally placed at Boughton House in Weekley and was moved to its current location in the 19th century.
