Description

St Peter's Spring Bath House is a listed building that likely dates from the mid-19th century, although it may have an earlier origin. The structure is made of coursed limestone and ironstone rubble and was originally topped with a glazed roof. It is rectangular in shape, featuring a round-headed entrance on the north side with a Latin inscription above it. The east side of the building has three niches, which were probably intended for statues. Inside, there was a bath, and opposite the entrance, there is a reclining figure of a woman, with a verse by Thomas Warton inscribed above it.
