Description

This is a house dating from the mid-18th century and later alterations in the 19th century. It is constructed of regular coursed limestone with a corrugated metal roof. Originally designed with a two-unit lobby-entry plan, the house now has a two-storey, two-window front elevation. The windows are 20th-century replacements set beneath wooden lintels. A brick stack rises from the roof ridge. There are two 19th-century casement windows on the first floor at the rear, also under wooden lintels, and a 20th-century door at the rear, also beneath a wooden lintel. 19th-century brick and stone extensions are attached to the rear of the building. The interior retains the remains of two open fireplaces and fragments of a stud screen separating the first-floor rooms. A side purlin roof structure representing the original roof construction remains. The building is included on the list for its group value.
