Description

Calveyhay Cottage is a house dating to the late 17th century, with later 20th-century additions. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and brick, with a Welsh slate roof. Originally designed with a two-unit plan, it is now two storeys high. The first floor has a two-window range of leaded casement windows set under the eaves, while the ground floor features two-light stone mullion windows with ovolo-moulded detailing. The gables have ashlar parapets, and the end stacks are finished with an ashlar cornice on one. A flat-roofed brick extension was added to the left side in the 20th century. The right gable includes a small window with a stone surround on the first floor. A stone surround frames the entrance on the rear, which also has a small 20th-century extension. The interior has not been inspected.
