Description

This is a pair of headstones located approximately 3 meters north of the north aisle of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene. They date from the early 18th century and are made of lias ashlar. The headstones feature scroll heads with oval inscription panels and some scroll decoration. One inscription is partially legible, commemorating Thomas Franklin, who died in 1702, and Eleanor Franklin, who died in 1714. They were the uncle and aunt of Benjamin Franklin. These headstones are included for their group value.
