Description

Shire House is a house dating from 1745. It is constructed of squared coursed ironstone and features a Collyweston slate roof. Originally designed with a two-unit plan, the house has two storeys and a three-window range of 19th-century casements, which are set beneath gauged stone heads with keyblocks. The central entrance consists of a four-panel, part-glazed door, also under a gauged stone head, and is topped with a 19th-century gabled hood. The gable parapets are made of ashlar, and there are brick stacks at both ends of the building. A similar 19th-century wing extends to the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
