Description

Two houses, numbers 13 and 15 Main Street, Ashley, were built in 1861, as indicated by datestones reading AD/1861/RP, likely for Reverend R. Pulteney. The houses are constructed of squared coursed ironstone with ashlar dressings and have a Collyweston slate roof. Originally designed with two-unit plans, they present a four-window facade with a range of three-light stone mullion windows with leaded lights. Each house has a door with a moulded stone surround and a four-centred arched head, situated between window ranges, with datestones placed above the doors. The buildings feature ashlar gable parapets and stone stacks at the ridge and ends. The interiors have not been inspected.
