Description

Two houses, built in 1868 and designed by E.F. Law. They are constructed from squared coursed lias stone with a Collyweston slate roof. The houses are arranged in an H-shape, with each house having a two-unit plan. The building has two storeys and a four-window front, featuring 3-light stone mullion windows in the outer bays, with stepped heads to the first-floor windows. Single-light windows are located centrally. The flanking bays project forward with gables. Plank doors with strap hinges are set under lean-to hoods at both the left and right of the centre. The roof has ashlar gable parapets, kneelers, and stacks at the ridge and eaves; datestones are incorporated into the eaves stacks. The interiors have not been inspected. The buildings are included on the list for their group value.
