Description
No 6 East Road is a late 17th century or early 18th century low house that stands two storeys high. It is constructed from roughly coursed rubble and features a fairly steep stone slate roof with a verge on the east gable and a prominent stone chimney stack. The house has two hipped dormers and two windows on each floor, which are hung sashes set in nearly flush moulded wooden cases with wooden lintels. There are traces of another window that has been walled up. The entrance is located in the west gable end and consists of a glazed door within a moulded wooden case. There is one window on the first floor that matches those on the road front. A small walled garden is situated on the roadside. This building, along with Nos 2 to 6 (even) and the barn adjoining No 4, forms a group with No 21 St Osyths Lane.
