Description
The Little House is a large house with origins dating from the 17th or 18th century, which was altered and extended in the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a Collyweston stone slate roof with coped gables, a moulded stone ridge, and end stacks.
The house consists of two main blocks, with the left block being lower and likely the older of the two, comprising three bays. The left-hand bay has a 2-light stone-mullioned window with a cornice on both the ground and first floors. The second bay is gabled and projects, featuring a rectangular stone-mullioned bay window on the ground floor, a 2-light mullioned window with a cornice on the first floor, and a blind shield above. The third bay includes a gabled porch with a painted finial and a contrasting boarded door, along with a single-light window to the left and a 2-light window with a cornice above.
The right-hand part of the house has a 2-light and a 3-light mullioned window with cornices on the ground floor, along with a similar 3-light window above. There is also a two-storey wing at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
