Description
The gates, gatepiers, and railings located approximately 90 meters west of Harrowden Hall date from the early 18th century and were restored in the 19th century. There are two pairs of limestone ashlar panelled gatepiers, each topped with winged lead figures. The structure features two pairs of wrought iron gates, which are flanked by intermediate wrought iron piers and overthrows. These elements are adorned with scrolls, finials, and the Wentworth coat of arms. The two gateways are connected by similar wrought-iron railings on a low wall, creating a forecourt screen for Harrowden Hall. The gardens and park associated with this site are recognized in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission County Register of Gardens at Grade II*.
