Description
The well-head, located approximately 30 metres southwest of the Orangery at Apethorpe Palace, is likely from the 17th century. It is made of travertine and features a circular shape with a square top, adorned with winged heads at the corners. The well-head probably has Italian origins and may have been reset during the early 20th century when the gardens were remodelled by Reginald Blomfield.
