Description

Hilly Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 18th century, with later additions on both the left and right sides. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ironstone bands and features a Collyweston slate roof with coped gables, along with brick and stone ridge and end stacks. The building has two storeys and the original house has a two-window range, which has been extended by one bay to the left.

The original section showcases moulded eaves and ironstone bands, with window dressings. There is a central blocked door that has been converted into a window, flanked by three-light small-paned casement windows, with similar three-light windows above. The stone heads of the windows are grouped. A hipped two-light dormer window is also present. The left bay features three-light windows on both the ground and first floors, with a gauged stone head above the ground floor window and a wooden lintel above the first floor window, as well as a two-light window on the ground floor. The left gable end was rebuilt in the 20th century, and there is a low 20th-century addition to the left. The current entrance is located in a lean-to that embraces the right-hand end of the original building. To the right, there is a two-storey addition that is lower than the original house, featuring small-paned casement windows with gauged heads. The interior has not been inspected.
