Description
The stables, located approximately 65 metres northwest of Ecton Hall, are now used as outbuildings. They were built in the mid-18th century for the Ecton Hall Estate. The structure features regular coursed ironstone and lias with a slate roof. Originally, it was likely a range of three stables with haylofts above. The ground floor has a five-window range of horizontal sliding sashes with glazing bars, all set under wooden lintels. There are three doors from the 19th and 20th centuries positioned between the windows, also under wooden lintels. On the first floor, a plank door on the far right is accessed by a flight of stone steps and is flanked by two horizontal sliding sashes. The building is adorned with ashlar gable parapets and kneelers.
