Description
The building consists of an office, outbuildings, and an attached wall and pier, located approximately 10 meters north of Duddington Manor. It likely has origins from the 17th century, with most of its structure dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. The materials used include squared coursed limestone and Collyweston slate roofs.
The office, situated to the east of the range, is probably from the early 19th century and features a single-storey, single-unit plan. It has a two-window range on the right side, showcasing sash windows with glazing bars, plain ashlar surrounds, and keyblocks. A central panelled door has a similar surround. The office also features ashlar gable parapets and a stone stack at the end.
To the west of the range is the outbuilding, which has a rectangular plan and two storeys, built on sloping ground so that the first floor aligns with the single-storey office. This structure likely dates from the 17th and 18th centuries and was remodeled in the 19th century. The first floor has a three-window range of 19th-century, two-light stone mullion windows. A doorway on the right, accessed by a flight of steps, has a chamfered stone surround with a four-centred arch-head. The outbuilding also features ashlar gable parapets, and the right gable includes a 17th-century three-light stone mullion window.
The rear elevation, facing the road, has an irregular arrangement of two- and three-light stone mullion windows on the first floor, along with a carriage arch with a segmental head on the ground floor right, which is now used as a garage. The office and outbuilding are connected by a small lean-to structure. Although the interior of the outbuilding has not been inspected, it is noted to have a late 19th-century medieval-style roof and may have been remodeled as a games room.
The wall and pier attached to the center of the range are part of the garden layout associated with Duddington Manor. This group of structures is included for its group value.
