Description
The Firs and attached stables is a house built in the late 18th century and early 19th century. It is constructed from squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and features a stone slate roof. The building has a T-shape plan and is two storeys high with an attic. The main front has a three-window range, with a central 20th-century door set beneath a gauged stone head with ashlar dressings. The windows are 10-paned unhorned sash windows, each with similar surrounds. The eaves are high, and there are ashlar stacks at both ends of the house. Attached to the left are the stables, which are now used as outbuildings; these have one casement window under a wood lintel to the right. The rear wing features casement windows and may have been built at a different time than the main front. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have panelled window reveals.
