Description
9 and 11 School Lane is a house that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates from the late 17th century and early 19th century. The building is constructed from squared coursed limestone and has a pantile roof. Originally, it had a three-unit plan and is two storeys high with an attic. The facade features a six-window range of 20th-century casements set in original openings, which are topped with wooden lintels. There are two 20th-century doors located between the window ranges. At each end of the building, there are brick and stone stacks. The bay on the far right of No. 11 was likely added in the early 19th century. The left gable of No. 9 has two blocked 17th-century stone mullion windows. Inside No. 9, there are remnants of an open fireplace with a bressumer, salt cupboards, stop-chamfered spine beams, and a winder stair.
