Description

Rectory Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse, remodelled in the 19th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone with a Collyweston slate roof and has an L-shaped plan. The main front has three bays and a two-window range, with a gabled cross wing projecting forward to the left. The front features 19th-century two-light stone mullion windows with sash lights, similar windows are in the return wall of the cross wing. A central 19th-century four-panel door is set within a pointed-head wooden porch. The roof has ashlar gable parapets, and there are ashlar stacks with moulded cornices at the ridge and ends. The rear elevation contains early 19th-century sash windows with glazing bars under wooden lintels. The interior was not inspected, but is noted to have ceiling beams. The cross wing was remodelled in the 19th century to incorporate a cellar and higher ceilings.
