Description
Pytchley House is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the early 18th century and has undergone refenestration and alterations in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and ashlar, featuring ashlar dressings and stone slate roofs. It has coped gables and three gable and two ridge coped stone stacks. The house is two storeys plus attics and has an L-plan with seven bays.
The south front features 19th-century wooden cross casement windows with hood moulds. There is an off-centre gable with a two-storey canted bay window that has a three-light casement on each floor. To the left of the bay window, there is a half-glazed door followed by two casements. To the right, there is a recessed door and two more casements. Above these, there are six casements, and above again, the main gable has a casement flanked by two gabled dormers.
At the rear, to the left, there is a canted two-storey 19th-century porch with a Gothic doorway and a window above. To the right, there is a gabled two-storey stair turret with a 19th-century segmental pointed stair light and a glazing bar sash above it. Further to the right, there is a two-storey wing with an external gable stack.
