Description
Slipton Lodge is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-18th century and into the 19th century. It is constructed of regularly coursed limestone and features a roof that is partly covered with Collyweston slate and partly with tiles. The building was originally likely designed with a three-unit lobby-entry plan.
It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has a three-window range on the ground floor, featuring irregularly spaced casements beneath wooden lintels. To the left of the centre, there is a 19th-century part-glazed door, also under a wooden lintel. A brick stack is located at the ridge of the roof. The right gable has three 20th-century casements under the original wooden lintels. The rear elevation facing the garden is similar to the front and shows evidence of two blocked doors, one positioned in the lobby-entry location. There is a 19th-century lean-to extension on the right side and a roof dormer. Although the interior has not been inspected, the centre room is noted to have an open fireplace with a bressumer.
