Description

Sudborough Manor is a manor house with origins in the 17th century, primarily dating from the late 18th century, and likely altered by T.F. Pritchard and remodeled in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from squared coursed limestone and features a Collyweston slate roof. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with an attic.

The main front has a five-window range, with three bays on the right showcasing sash windows that have glazing bars and plain ashlar surrounds. The two bays on the left contain plain 19th-century sash windows and have arch-headed eaves dormers on the first floor. There is said to be a six-panel door to the right, which is set in a large shallow arched recess flanked by Doric pilasters and half pilasters at the corners of the recess. The three roof dormers on the right also feature shallow arch heads. The hipped roof is topped with ashlar stacks at the ridge, which have moulded cornices.

To the right of the main front, there is an elevation with a four-window range of sash windows similar to those on the main front. To the left, there is a two-window range that mirrors the left side of the main front. The interior has not been inspected, and this description was prepared from the roadside.
