Description
Grange Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 18th century, with alterations made in the mid 19th century. It is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and features roofs made of Collyweston and Welsh slate. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic.
The main front consists of a three-window range of plain 19th-century sash windows on the first floor, set within original 18th-century openings that have ashlar surrounds. At the ground floor, there are two large canted wood bay windows from the 19th century. The central entrance features a part-glazed door from the 19th century, surrounded by a moulded stone frame and topped with a cast iron porch. The farmhouse has ashlar quoins, gable parapets, and ashlar stacks, although some of the stacks have been rebuilt in brick at the ends. The interior is primarily from the mid 19th century, and the bricks used in construction are likely locally made. The farmhouse is included for its group value.
