Description

Hillside is a house dating from the early 19th century, which incorporates elements of an older structure. It is built from red and vitreous chequer brick, featuring a brick plinth and dentil eaves. The roof is covered with old tiles, and there is a brick chimney on the right side. The right gable displays traces of the roof truss from the earlier building. The house has two storeys and three bays, with 4-pane sash windows; the ground floor windows have rendered and whitewashed voussoir heads. The central entrance features a 6-panel door set within a later wooden porch that has an entablature hood supported by slender Doric columns. There are 20th-century extensions at the rear.
