Description
The Old Bakery is a house dating from the 17th century, which has been altered and extended in the 19th century. The two central bays feature weatherboarding over a timber frame, while the ground floor of the northwest wall has been rebuilt in chequer brick. The building has a thatched roof with a central chimney made of 20th-century brick. At the street end, there is an early 19th-century bay constructed of red and vitreous brick with an old tile roof, along with a 20th-century extension made of red brick and tiles at the far end. The house is 1 ½ storeys tall and has 20th-century barred wooden casements. The northwest front of the central bays includes two-light casements on the left side of the ground floor, a three-light casement on the right side, and a central boarded door. The 19th-century bay features a 20th-century glazed and barred door with a flat hood supported by shaped brackets. The gable end has a bowed oriel window on the ground floor and a two-light casement above.
