Description
No. 14 on Leighton Road is a house that dates back to the 16th century but was mostly rebuilt in the 20th century. It has a timber frame that has been largely replaced in the 20th century, with brick infill and a plinth. The roof is covered with old tiles, and there is a large external brick chimney stack on the right side, which has also been rebuilt. The house has two storeys and two bays, with the first floor jettied at the front and left side; the left side is now covered by a 20th-century lean-to. The windows are 20th-century barred wooden casements, featuring three lights on the ground floor, two lights on the first floor and lean-to, and a single light above the door. There is also a lean-to and a 20th-century extension at the rear. Inside, some curved and ogee braces and a dragon beam are still visible, along with remnants of the original frame that show traces of close-studding.
