Description
A pair of houses dated 1722, situated on Church Street, with 19th and 20th-century extensions added to either side. The houses are timber-framed with diagonal bracing, red and vitreous brick infill, and a rubble stone plinth. They have a tiled roof and a rebuilt central brick chimney. The houses are two storeys and have an attic. Originally two bays wide, they feature paired leaded casement windows, with a small window in the centre. A board door is positioned on the left side, and a flush-panelled door on the right. A painted Phoenix fire insurance plaque is displayed in the centre. Brick extensions, one bay each, flank the original houses; the extension on the right is gabled, and the extension on the left includes an attic dormer. The extensions contain irregular, barred wooden casements.
