Description
The Village Store is a house and shop that dates from the 17th century and early 18th century, with some alterations. The front facing the road is made of whitewashed rubble stone featuring large inset ammonites. The eastern side is timber-framed with whitewashed brick infill and a rubble stone plinth, while the western side has been rebuilt in whitewashed brick. The roof is tiled from the 20th century and is half-hipped at the front. There is a rebuilt brick chimney located between the rear bays.
The building has two storeys and three bays. The eastern side features irregular wooden casements with single horizontal glazing bars, and there is an entrance in the center leading into a glazed lean-to porch. The gable facing the road includes a three-light shop window and a paired wooden casement above, both with segmental heads. To the left of the gable, there is a former outbuilding made of whitewashed brick and weatherboard, which has been incorporated into the shop and now features a shop front and one board door.
