Description

This is a cottage, likely dating from the 17th century. It was originally two cottages, but is now combined into one. The structure is timber framed, with large plaster panels where some of the original timbering has been replaced by brick nogging. It has a thatched roof and is one-and-a-half storeys high. The windows are paired wooden casements. Each half of the original cottages has a central doorway flanked by a bay of windows on either side. The right-end bay has no window visible beneath the thatch. A modern gabled porch is on the right-hand side. A lintel on a ground floor casement in the left-end bay bears the inscription “FS IK SW 1760”.
