Description

The lodge, built after 1874, is likely the work of architect George Devey for Leopold de Rothschild. It features a ground floor constructed of rubble stone below the sill level, with red brick above. The first floor is finished with whitewashed render, ornamental half-timbering, and a moulded bressumer, along with some tile-hanging at the rear. The roof is tiled and adorned with ornately cusped bargeboards and a panelled brick chimney with an offset head, contributing to its picturesque appearance.

The lodge is two storeys high and has two bays facing north. It includes leaded casements, with the right bay being gabled and projecting, featuring a first floor that jetties on arched braces. The ground floor has a canted bay window, while the first floor boasts a four-light oriel window supported by brackets. The left bay contains a brick porch with leaded windows and a door on the left side, topped with a flat roof that angles with the right bay. Additionally, there is a single storey bay set back to the far right, which has a hipped roof.
