Farmhouse. Dated 1689, altered. Rubblestone with brick dressings brick gables and rear elevation. Plain tile roofs. 2 storeys plus dormers. 5 bays with stair turret at rear of second bay from left and mid C18 wing projecting from rear of centre bay. South east front has central gabled modern porch. Left bay with brick gable and no windows. Ground floor has 4-pane sash and two 2-light leaded casements, first floor has single light casement, two 2-light casements and, at right, 4 pane sash. Two 2-light gabled dormers. STacks between bays 1 and 2, 3 and 4 and to east gable. Rear elevation has, to east of stair turret, door with Gothick fanlight and cross casement above. East bays have C17 door frame at right, 3-light leaded casement at left and dormer, first floor windows being blocked. Date plaques with initials 'R.C.E.1689'. Interior: Chamfered and stopped spine beams to ground and first floors. Stair turret has full height closed string staircase with ball finials and drops to newels. Open well plan with moulded handrail and turned balusters. RCHM I. 248. MON.14.
