SU 89 NW WEST WYCOMBE RURAL PLOMER GREEN LANE (West Side, off) 1/222 Weatherboard barn at Downley Farm on North side of farmyard

Barn. Mid C18. Timber frame with weatherboard cladding. Plain tile roof, half-hipped at east end. 3 bays. Central opposed cart entries, that on south (yard) side in half-hipped gabled midstray and with added lean-to on left. Interior: frame has sole plate; jowelled wall posts with straight braces to tie-beams and wall plates (some removed); large-scantling studs; no mid-rail; long raking braces. Roof has queen strut trusses, one truss with curved struts; clasped purlins; mostly replacement rafters; later plank ridge. This barn is an important element in this farmyard group.
